We're moving onto it
How Perly gets paid
Perly App's club seats and yearly plan, and Perly Pay's own plans, move onto Perly Pay during the beta. It grew out of the checkout Perly App already takes bitcoin and dollars with.
Why we left 1% gateways
Gateways wanted 0.5–1.5% of every sale, held the money before we saw it, and several would not take us at all.
A payment in bitcoin or dollars on-chain needs none of that. A buyer can pay an address. The hard part is knowing which address, and when it was paid.
Money on the owner's Ledger
Every Perly sale goes to an address made from a key on a Ledger in the owner's drawer. Our servers only know the public half.
If Perly Pay went dark tomorrow, every sale would still be on that Ledger.
What went wrong once
On 22 September 2026 a test purchase got a club seat without paying.
The wallet key we added had been used before. Its first address held a transfer from a year earlier. A blockchain answers with an address's whole history — and our watcher counted all of it. The invoice was paid in 18 seconds.
How we fixed it
Now only money that arrives after the invoice counts.
Every transfer carries the chain's own time. The database refuses one older than its invoice, with two hours' slack for block clocks. An old transaction can't pay a new invoice — not from the watcher, not from a pasted hash.
The seat was taken back and the invoice canceled. The rule is the floor of Perly Pay, written into the database.
