Refunds

You send from your own wallet; the buyer gives an address through a secure link. We take nothing.

We never hold money, so we can't send it back for you. A refund is you paying the buyer from your wallet — we make that safe and short.

How it goes

  1. 1

    You open it

On the payment, press Refund: all of it or part. refund.requested.

  2. 2

    The buyer gives an address

They get a secure link by email and paste an address on the same network. We screen it.

  3. 3

    You send

We show the exact amount and a QR code. Send from any of your wallets.

  4. 4

    You mark it sent

Paste the transaction id. We check it pays that address that amount. refund.sent.

  5. 5

    We confirm

Once that transaction is confirmed on-chain, the invoice turns Refunded and the buyer gets a refund receipt. refund.confirmed.

Only the transaction you name counts. A buyer may give an exchange address that other people pay into too, so a transfer we merely see there is shown to you as a suggestion, never taken as your refund.
Money from an address on a sanctions list, or one the coin's issuer froze, is never refunded: the dashboard refuses, and the API answers sanctioned_sender. Sending it back may itself be prohibited, so leave it where it is and talk to a lawyer. See Screening.

Who pays the network fee

By default the buyer does: the fee comes out of the refund. A price can say you pay it instead.

PaidFeeYou send
100 USDC on Base~0.0199.99 USDC
100 USDT on Ethereum~298 USDT
0.001 BTC~0.0000050.000995 BTC

When the price says you pay the fee, you send the full amount and the fee comes from your wallet.

Fees here are examples; the refund screen shows today's. A fee bigger than the refund is refused rather than sending dust.

The buyer agreed to the price's refund terms with a checkbox at checkout. Perly takes no part of a refund, and no fee for one.

Refund window

Each price says whether refunds are allowed and for how many days. Outside the window the Refund button is gone.
